Walking in the rain

Last Saturday, hubby and I together with my bro-in-law did a long walked. Well, for me it was a long walked already but the two boys they don't find it that long. They have long legs so one step of them is like my two steps already, LOL.

Actually, it was started as a joke for me that I want to visit the "Peace Palace". I knew that it's not allowed to go inside the palace but I just want to see the outside of the palace. But never had I thought that these two men will bring me there on that day haaa. So okay, I just go with the flow and I guess were halfway already to our destination, then it started to rain. In that time it was not hard yet so we can manage that but when we're there already in the palace, then it started to rain hard. I guess it was a wrong timing to visit in that time but okay, I saw it and took a pic of it. So when we're on the way to the Den Haag centrum, then it rains so hard and it's so windy. Luckily we had our umbrella so we were still dry in the upper but we felt in our legs some wet already.

Relaxing day

Tuesday is such an easy day for me, aside that I can join the ladies shopping with mom and grandma. I can also sleep longer because I have no class. Sometimes I feel like I miss waking up so late in the morning but going to school is much more fun for me *wink*. I like being in the class and through my Dutch course seems like everything goes smooth. I know that I have been longing to be in a class again even not as a teacher but as student. So now that I'm free, I have so much time to do the things that I want. For now I'm just surfing through the net and I came across this lovely helmetshop motorcycle helmets. One of the nice helmets there looks like the helmet of my classmate in college.

Buying it piece by piece

Hubby and I are going to send a package to the family in Philippines. But I have a big family and for sure it costs a lot if we buy it altogether in one time. So what we do is we buy it piece by piece then it's not so heavy for our wallet. In fact, we bought something already but still not enough to send it to the family. Of course, it's not fair that one get something and the other one has nothing, so to make it fair everyone will get something even just a simple thing. So far, the two boys in the family has something already, so now I'm thinking what to give to my two teenager nieces. These two young ladies have different taste and style when it comes to clothing. My other niece is to girly just like me, LOL, so I have no problem on what I can buy for her. While the second niece of mine, she's a little bit boyish that prefer to wear some t-shirts instead of blouses. So what I have in my mind now is to buy funny t shirts that makes her smile every time she will wear it.

Ohh,,djee I’m late again in my yummy Sunday post, but anyway, here’s the foods that hubby and I ate a week ago. Hubby gave a dinner treat for me in celebrating for my 6th months of stay here in NL. And again, we went to Sushi restaurant because we’re both craving for some sushi foods and it feels so nice after we ate all the foods that we like.

Easily connected

What does technology brings us? Of course it brings us a lot and one of those is being connected so easy to our family, friends or loved ones that lives or work abroad. Communication goes faster now than before and you can easily see them even they are across a thousand miles away from you. Aside from that, it's now easy to connect some friends you know way back elementary, high school or even college days and that is through social networking. In fact, I have one account in one of the social networking and I find it so nice. I'm able to see some of my classmates/friends that I didn't see for long. And through this networking, we can update each others lives. Just like my classmate in high school that I didn't saw for long. Apparently, she is now living in the other side of the world and it's so nice watching her pictures through her profile. At first I didn't know her job yet, but watching her picture wearing all white and holding the med carts already gave me an idea of what kind of job she has.

I'm half year in NL

Time fly so fast that I even didn't notice that I'm already 6 months here in NL. It's the longest time that I able to stay here in NL, pheewww. For the past few years, I mostly stay here for 3 months then, back again to the Philippines. I have a mix feeling that at this time I can finally stay longer than before. I know that I've been wishing to have this before but it took us a bit longer to process all the papers that we need. So I'm very much thankful that finally a wish granted, indeed, God is so good and he has the reason for everything.

For sure you wonder why I wrote before it's a mix feeling, well I'm very much happy, of course, I can be with my husband longer. But at the same time I feel a bit sad because I left my family back home and my friends. Maybe I just feel so new that this is the first time I'm away longer than 3 months. I know that in the future I got used to it, as of now I'm still coping and adjusting the Dutch culture *wink*. And besides, this is the life I choose and there's no regret at all. I'm happier than before because at least I can be with the person to whom I truly love with and love me unconditionally.

Surfing through the net

I just came home from school, its brrr....cold outside. So I'm glad that I'm home now, it's nice, quiet, relaxing and warm here. Anyway, before reviewing my lesson today I first check my online stuff and do some surfing a bit. Guess what I stumble, an online store that sell component video cables. It reminds me the last time I was in the Philippines, I was searching for this kind of cable. Now that I don't search it, I can easily found it. I need to call my family in the Philippines to ask them if they still need to have this cable because if they do, then I can easily purchase it for them.

Mobile dictionary

I'm so glad that finally I purchase a Dutch-English or English-Dutch mobile dictionary. I have mobile dictionary already but the one I have was just English. Since I'm having the Dutch course, I find it so difficult to construct a sentence without knowing the meaning of the dutch word. So I've decided to purchase a new mobile dictionary. I know it's useful for me to be able to learn more dutch words. And aside from that, mobile dictionary is much handy than carrying a normal dictionary. At least with my mobile, I can carry it with me anywhere I go without any hassle that it used so much space in my bag.

It is now 12:04 in the midnight, therefore in about 24 hours, it's a brand new year that I face. So before 2012 comes, allow me to thank God for all the fruitful things that happened into my life in year 2011. Simple or big things, good or bad, I heartily thank you almighty father for giving me the courage, strength, patience, knowledge, wisdom and love. Without those, I may not be able to face the bumpy road that I passed by.

Hubby is sick

Our evening seems so quiet, well, at least that's what I notice. Hubby is sick. He has a bad cold and cough but he is stubborn to take a cough medication. I guess he likes to have cough hmmm. Anyway, I hope he feel better soon, I miss our evening bonding like watching tv, movies, playing some games or just stupid things that we normally do. As of now, he is sick, so mostly he came home from his work, he is tired. Not in the mood to talk about stupid things and just want to take a nap. So all evening, I feel I'm alone. Well he is physically present but totally "knockout", LOL.

Same as in the Philippines, not every company will give a kerspakket or Christmas presents to their employee. So we just feel happy and thankful that hubby and bro-in-law got their kerspakket this year. Well, I took some pictures of the kerspaket they got. Celebrating Christmas here in NL is not new to me. I guess this is my third times that I celebrate Christmas here. Well, I never experience white Christmas this time unlike last year, pheww that's really a wonderful Christmas experience for me. It felt so nice that while celebrating the Christmas season, then outside you can see the snow that fell down. I know for some people they find it stupid that I wish to have a snow this year but haaa I can't help it, I just find them so nice to see. And we don't have those in the Philippines, so it's so nice to experience it once in a while *wink*.

Anyway, here in NL, they have Eerste Kersdag (first Christmas) and tweede kersdag (second Christmas) and that will be on the 25th and 26th of December. Well, I don't get it why they have two Christmas celebration, as we all know, Jesus Christ was born once only and that was on the 25th of December. But anyway, we had two days of yummy foods on the table haaa. On the Eerste kersdag, we had a cozy family dinner including my mother-in-law sister and her mother. We ate some yummy foods that start from the appetizer, to soup, to normal menu and of course the dessert. While on the tweede Kersdag we did the gourmet dinner.

I was in the store two days ago and I saw an eyelashes curler. It flashback me the time that my niece used that eyelashes curler and all her eyelashes were gone haaaa. I can't help it but laugh when I saw that on her right eye, no more eyelashes left. She felt so embarrassed that it happened to her and promised it to herself that she won't use that curler anymore. I guess she did something wrong in using the curler and she end up of losing her eyelashes. Well, it took her for months to let it grow her eyelashes. But in case you encountered same problem as niece, then no worry because I just stumble the best eyelash growth product. Never tried this product yet but reading their review seems like it's very interesting.

A few years ago when hubby and bro-in-law visited the Philippines, we did something adventure. I'm not adventurous type of person but my guest loves to do some fun activity such as water rafting, zip-line, cable car, shooting range, go carts, rope adventure, island hopping, snorkeling, jetski, walking in the forest and many more. Well, most of those activities I join because it was really fun. But one activity that we never tried to do is the horse riding. We don't dare to ride but we enjoy watching some people that ride on the horse, then, I notice that when they do the horse riding they also need to wear an equestrian helmets for security for their head in case they fall. It looks fun watching but I don't know if in the future we try to do that, either maybe or maybe not.

Party time tomorrow

Tomorrow is the Christmas party of my husband at his work. I'm a bit nervous because I'm going to mingle some stranger people that I didn't know. Actually, it's the second time that I joined their Christmas party but still I feel awkward to meet his bos and colleagues together with their partner. Aside from that, the company will be celebrating their 40th year anniversary, so they have a big party this time. They invite about 500 people but of course it's understandable that it not 100% will join the party. Well, being involve in this kind of event has advantage also, it enhanced our social life. However, to mingle with other has no problem with me as long I can cope the subject and the language. My concern here is when they start talking their own language, such as DUTCH, then I guess I want to be invisible haaa. Mijn Nederlands taal is niet goed haaa ( My dutch language is not good).

I arrived early but still I'm late in my class

I'm sure you wonder with the title of my post. Actually, it's almost 2 weeks now that I did my dutch course and my first day of school was funny. Well, at least for me I find it funny because I was so excited that I can start the course. In fact, I woke up early in the morning to make sure that I won't be late on my first day of school. Yeah, I arrived early at school but I'm late in my class haa because I went to a wrong classroom. I'm surprised already that they are at the page 90 and everyone had a book aside me. After few minutes of sitting, talking to my classmates and teacher, I kept doubting that I guess I'm in a wrong class. So without any hesitation, I asked the teacher and yeah, she told me I'm in a wrong class, LOL. My classroom was next to the room where I stayed for few minutes. So I transfered in my normal classroom and there I arrived late.

Heartbreaking news of my city

Saturday morning when I woke up, I saw some wall post at facebook about the typhoon "Sendong" that hits in the city where I came from such as Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. I was a bit in panic because most of my family live in the center of the city. Directly I called my sister and niece but no one answered my call. I started to get worried, wondering if my family were okay in that time. I check the news via online and there they mention which area of Cagayan de Oro affected so much. Though they didn't mention the barangay where my family live but still I'm worried. So I called my other sister who live in the other barangay, then she told me that her family was okay. And explaining to me that maybe my other sister and niece got low bat because all night it's brownout. So I waited for hours to call again my sister and finally she answered. I'm just glad that they were all okay and no one was hurt. Thank you Lord for the guidance and for the safety of my family. I felt pity for those family's who lost their loved ones, children, parents, relatives or friends. To those people who died for this unexpected calamity, may they rest in peace. Let's all pray for their souls.

First Pinoy Xmas party I've join

First and foremost, I would like to thank my fellow blogger Faye, the owner of "Me in the Dutch Society" for inviting me the Christmas party last Saturday. Actually, at first I thought we can't join the party because it's the birthday of my mother-in-law's sister but luckily we settled the time and it went all okay. I felt so excited to join the Christmas party because it's my first time to attend a pinoy event here in NL. So I'm a bit curious how it goes, though I know already the pinoy party style but I'm curious to meet some other pinoy that live here in NL. And through this party, I was given a chance to meet some pinoy together with their partner and their children. It was nice meeting them, of course many talks during the party and foods were very delicious. It was a short meeting but it was fun and great. I had a wonderful time meeting them all.

Saturday bonding with 2 men

Mostly Saturday, I spend my time bonding with two men at home. It's like part of our weekly routine that hubby and I together with bro-in-law will visit the centrum to do some men's window shopping. Yeah, I called it men's window shopping because we visit mostly some men's store and I only can do that when I'm with them. If I do my own shopping, then I end up mostly at the shoe stores, lingerie store or at the clothing store haaaa.

Well, a few weeks ago, we visit one of the electronic stores here in the centrum and there hubby was fascinated to AV receiver. The av receiver or audio-video receivers are one of the many consumer electronics components typically found within a home theatre system. Their primary purpose is to amplify sound from a multitude of possible audio sources as well as route video signals to your TV from various source.

Racing game

This is the game that sometimes hubby and bro-in-law played together, the racing game. I'm not avid fan of this game because it makes me feel dizzy, probably because of the fast movement.Well I tried to race too, but I'm so bad, LOL. Just nice to see those two men racing each other and like always, they are very noisy and keep saying to each other "cheaters" haaaa. Well the loser has the big mouth to complain *wink*.

Advance development of technology

Nowadays, we notice that technology change fast. Just imagine for the latest TV we saw in every electronic store. I remembered when I was a kid, we still used an old fashion black and white TV with a big cover around it. Years passed by it change into colored and of course people gets more excited because we can view it better than the old one. After that, TV cover becomes thinner than before. And now we are into LCD/LED flat screen TV with such a clear view of the movie that we watch. In addition to the latest technology, we have now 3D TV, did you see how fast it changed then?

That's the same thing as our road map, before we used a manual map but now we have navigation system or GPS system that will guide us to every destination that we want. However, I still prefer the best handheld gps because I find it more handy and not so expensive. Anyway, the advantage of being advance to our technology, it seems like everything goes smooth and easy.

Bonding time with my bro-in-law

My brother-in-law or I sometimes called him my kuya J is free for 4 weeks from his job. So nice that in that weeks he can relax and do something fun without any stress from his work. Sometimes I think, wish hubby can take that weeks of free but at this moment, it's impossible. Most of his days off, he spent in Philippines months ago, so now only 2 days left.

Anyway, back to my kuya J, this week is his last week of free. He sometimes said to me that days goes fast because his vacation is almost over. In his weeks of free, I enjoy it because I have someone to hang out haaa. Our age gap is not that far from each other, so probably that's the reason that I'm comfortable with him. Aside from that he is also a bit crazy like me, so we have something in common, LOL.

Well goodluck for both of us bro..Monday you're back to work, while me my dutch course will begin. I have a mix feeling, it's like I'm excited at the same time feel sad. I'm excited in a sense that I can start the course that I've been waiting for almost three months, phewww. Feel sad that when I'm back home, I have no one to hang out with.

Sinterklaas presents

December 5, 2011 was officially the feast of Sinterklaas. And as I posted before, we did an advanced celebration and that was last Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4, 20011. The picture below shows some of our presents. Mostly its wrap with a big package and the inside was more on fun things that made of cartoon box, then add some colored paper or paint to create something nice or fun things. But in that package, there's a normal present that were hidden. So need to break the fun presents to search for the normal gifts.

Pheww... I took a power nap this afternoon, so now it's late already and still I'm awake. This is the disadvantage of me if I take afternoon nap, then I'm having a hard time going to bed in the evening. Well, hubby was sleeping so sweetly already and here I am still in my blogging mode, still fully awake and fully charge haaa. I wonder what time I feel like I'm lowbat then I can directly lay on bed and relax until I reach in the land of my dreams *wink*. For now so difficult to lay and try to get some sleep because once I'm fully awake, then my mind keeps working. In other words, many thoughts, ideas, questions, plans and wishes that goes into my mind. So better to blog then my mind will be busy thinking on what topic I can share here. Well, too many blogs to maintain, so it's time to update it all.

We cook together

My bro-in-law and I did our cooking last Friday and it was a big success. We cook chicken adobo aloha during dinner time while in the morning we bake banana cake. It was our first time to cook and to bake this foods and luckily it was a big success. I'm not a good cook but luckily bro in law was there to help me. As our vegis for the dinner, bro-in-law made some cucumber with some sauce on it. I find it yummy but hubby doesn't like it much because he finds it too spicy haaa.

Advance Sinterklaas celebration

Our advance Sinterklaas celebration just finished hours ago and it was a lot of fun. The exact date for the Sinterklaas feast will be tomorrow, December 5th but most people have some work, so we prefer to celebrate it one day in advance.

Anyway, hubby and I did a great job in combining our creativity skills *wink*. Therefore our creation was a big success, grandma was laughing so loud from the presents he got from hubby. And my bro-in-law laugh loud too from the presents I made. It was all funny things that happened to him in the past and it's nice to reminisced it again during the feast. Some things I made was the thing he wishes to have haaa. A thing that you can't buy, so I customized it to grant his wish. Well, if next year I get his name again, then I have idea already what to make haaa.

I will be cooking tomorrow

Yup! you read it right, tomorrow I will be cooking something for the family. Well, like I always said I'm not really a good cook but aslong there's a recipe with me, then I can make something. I'm the one who prepared for our dinner tomorrow and I will cook chicken adobo aloha with some plain rice I think. I just hope that the food I cook tomorrow is tasteful. Actually, it's my first time to make it, so I cross my fingers that it will be okay.

Anyway, aside in cooking for our dinner, I also want to bake banana cake too. Actually, I'm fond of baking cakes but depends on what kind of cake. I'm so picky when it comes to cake haaa so I prefer to bake only the cakes that I like *wink*. I'm done baking my favorite moist chocolate cake and it was a big success, so I'm move to the next, which is banana cake. Just funny because I don't like much banana fruit or banana shake but I like banana cake haaa.

Well, tomorrow my bro-in-law will help me in my cooking task. I grab this chance that he can help me while he's still free from his work haaa.

I miss attending church mass

This coming December 9 is officially my five months stay here in NL. And within that five months, I have never been to church to attend Sunday mass. I miss going to church to attend the mass, to listen to gospel from the priest and to say my heart-warming prayer. I'm not so religious type of person but it's like I got used to it already when I was in Philippines that mostly every Sunday I attend mass in our church. Although sometimes I visit the chapel here in the centrum but still I find it so different if I compared it in attending a normal mass. Well, there's a church closed by but the mass is dutch or latin language and I can't understand those two languages. Well, hope someday hubby and I can attend the English mass.

Just a few days ago, I received my first online shopping that I did it by myself. Thanks to google translator haaa because it help me to fill in the form just to purchase the items that I want. Actually the online store that I'm referring is not an English site, therefore it's so difficult for me to understand without a translator. Though hubby was next to me in that time, but he was busy with other things. So I don't want to bother him in that time, so in my own simple way I finally made it *wink*.

Now I'm planning to purchase some other items that I saw via online shopping again. It's a nice fleece jackets that I adore so much. I just love the color and the style. Looks simple, but attractive in my eyes. I didn't make a final decision yet, so I just see it soon.

Yes...yahoo...yeheyy.. it sounds very exciting, isn't it? Well, it is... that's what I felt after I got my contract from the dutch course this afternoon. Actually, it's a long waiting for me and finally I can start the course soon. I just feel so happy and feel relieved, after months of waiting. Thank you Lord! this is a new learning to me. So I just see how it goes.

For them winter is just an ugly weather, too cold, too slippery outside and dangerous when the snow starts to melt. However, for a person like me who came from a tropical country that winter didn't exist, I find this winter season great, LOL. Probably for just a couple of years I will enjoy it and time comes that maybe I will start to dislike it too. But as of now, I still enjoy it, in fact I'm already looking forward to see some snowflakes in the air. Seeing all the environment in white color, which is so cool to see in my eyes.

Anyway, just a few weeks to go then it's officially wintertime. I'm sure those people who adore winter sports are getting excited, then they can do the sports they like. Some countries here in Europe have a heavy snows even before winter season comes, while the country where I recently live, so far we don't have some snow yet. Whenever you experience a terrible cold weather, then it's a time to wear some thick snowboard gloves and Oakley snow pants. With these things, you can ensure that you are warm enough. Remember health is wealth. So protect yourself against the terrible cold because if not, then there might be a tendency that you will get sick.

I just came home from our long walked at the centrum. I was with my bro-in-law and we just walked and explore a bit. The weather was nice when we're outside, the sun was shining and it's just perfect to walk. Well, it's so rare that I'm the one who asked that we take some walked, they knew I'm lazy when it comes to walking haaa. Well, of course, I was too spoiled when I was in the Philippines because transportation was very accessible to our house. So why I need to walked if I can take some ride *wink*. However, just this day I'm in the good mood of walking, stretching my legs, fresh air from outside and of course to burn some fats, LOL.

Anyway, I try to make myself busy now because I don't want to take a nap. Well, it's nice to nap at this time but then in the evening, I have a problem because I can't sleep normal time anymore. So now I'm fighting with my sleepy eyes by doing something here in the net. Trying to entertain to let my eyes be awake again, I hope haaaa.

Here's my Walt Disney figure (Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse) that I got it for free from one of the supermarket here in NL. Overall disney collections they have are six, but so far this is what I've got. I need to save more stickers to get extra free disney. I just find them cute, so I prefer to keep it. Besides no children here at home that will like it haaa so I take this opportunity to enjoy my time. And of course, I like free goodies, I'm sure you like it too. Well, I can avail this free disney by doing some groceries. For every 15 euro is equivalent to one sticker. And I need to have six stickers to get one disney for free. So if I want to get all those six disney, then I must have 36 stickers. Well, I just see if I can get all of those, I'm not fond of those two disney haaa. And besides the promo of this disney will end first week of December.

Yup, you read it correctly, I'm baking cake today. In fact, it's now in the oven and just waiting when it's done. This cake was supposedly bake weeks ago, but for some reason, my interest in baking it was gone. And today I'm just in the mood to bake it again, so we did it. Hubby helps me in preparing the chocolate moist cake. I just hope this time we make a yummy and sweet cake. The first cake I bake years ago was very salty, haaa I put too much salt on it. And the second cake I bake, it's a bit bitter because I put too much cocoa haaa. So I cross my fingers that this time I bake it well. Well, update you soon for the final result, either it taste good or bad.

Pheww, it's getting cold here now, I can feel that it's really autumn season. A weeks ago, I was just enjoying the nice weather that it feels like it's springtime. The sun shines so bright and its not as cold as this time. In fact, I walked with my normal jacket, but this time I'm wearing a winter jacket already. Time to set aside those thin jacket and wear the thick one to warm me up.

Anyway, when the weather was not so cold yet, hubby and I decided to visit the Haagse bos (forest). I had been there already months ago, but I was with my in-laws in that time. Our visit were very fun and exciting because I saw a lot of falling leaves that I never saw before. Aside from that, there were more dry leaves that laid down the ground compared to my previous visit. We walked with it, kick with it and I even play those leaves haaa. Makes me feel like a kid in that time haaa. Well, we were just having fun together and that's more important.

Everyone is busy

Sinterklaas feast is almost approaching here in NL, therefore, people at home needs to be busy too. In fact everyone is locking each door to hide our presents. The presents must be finish before the feast and that is on December 5. Actually, this feast is like a family tradition for my husband's family. Sinterklaas feast is known for children's feast but my husband's family still does it eventhough there's no children anymore. I guess they continue this family tradition for more than 50 years already. We celebrate it in an adult and fun way that applies our imagination and creativity talent *wink*. I post it soon what we made, as of now we are all busy in making.

Anyway, last night hubby and I were busy for our second presents. It's a lot of work but for sure the one who gets it will be surprise haaa. SO while were busy making, we also had time to watch movies on TV. It's some kind of action movie that people work at the detective agency and they will try to help some people who are in need. Like need protection, security and many more. I'm sure if you watch this kind of movie, then it makes you want to learn how to become an FBI agent!

Do you collect something? Well, we do, hubby collect miniature cars from 1880 while I collect miniature shoes. We just love to have our own collections and display it in our room. It's something nice to stare it especially when it's displayed in a nice glass shelves *wink*.

I'm so excited that tomorrow I will start my knitting class. And guess what, I hired a private tutor haaa my mother-in-law. Yup, a week ago and yesterday I was busy sewing here at home. Not sewing to make something new design, but I sew some of my old clothes to make it more fashionable in my own simple way, LOL. I also did this way back when I was in Philippines. When I have some old clothing that I don't like to wear, then I tried to think if I can do something with, sort of recycle design *wink*. Well, mom has a nice electric sewing machine. SO easy to sew compared to our old sewing machine in Philippines. It's a manual sewing machine, so need to paddle with my feet to let it work. But this electric machine, just put my foot and push a bit then there it goes.

Hix fixing my old laptop

While I'm busy updating all my blogs, hubby is also busy fixing my old laptop. I have that laptop for about 4 years already. The first laptop that hubby bought for me when I was still in Philippines. And now that I move here in NL, I brought that laptop with me also because it's special, LOL. It's special because it's a gift from hubby.

Anyway, The laptop has some problem, all the drivers were gone because hubby did something. I had a recovery CD's for that laptop that will install everything back into normal, but when my sister sent by post, the second CD's had a crack. Probably it's totally smash while it transported by post from Philippines to NL. Nothing I can do about it, the recovery CD's didn't function anymore, so now hubby is having a hard time fixing the laptop. I cross my fingers that hubby can fix it, I know he is busy for long already this evening.

After celebrating my 30th birthday last Friday October 21, then two days after hubby and I celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. It's our first time that we celebrate it together because for the past two years we were both far from each other. SO this 3rd wedding anniversary was very special to us, feels like it was our first *wink*. We are just happy that finally we made it to celebrate it together. One of the nice presents I got from hubby was the red roses. The tulips flower was given to me by my mother-in-law during my birthday.

My 30th birthday

In celebrating for the 30th birthday last Friday October 21, we had a family dinner at home called gourmet. It's a kind of dinner that we do self-service cooking. Yup, you cook your own foods using the small pan. Well, I love this kind of dinner because I can select what kind of vegetables I want to eat, many kinds of meat and it's always a lot of fun for us.

Anyway, belated happy birthday to me, wahhhaaa. Thanks to my husband and in-laws for making my 30th birthday memorable to me. I'm not used to it to celebrate my birthday, but here I did *wink*. And thanks for all the nice presents I received, it's both cash and useful things that I like.

I had two birthday celebration here, first celebration was dinner with the direct family. And on the next day, we invite the other family members. But it's not dinner anymore that we prepared, but some light snacks only.

Rambutan and singkamas

I'm glad that I finally ate those rambutan and singkamas. I've been craving for that for a couple of weeks already. I'm just surprised for the price here, too far from the price in Philippines, but okay nothing I can do about it. The rambutan is my favorite fruit. In fact, I can empty 1 kilo of that, LOL. I'm happy to eat those 8 pieces of rambutan, not much, but it gave a smile on my face. So I didn't give anyone a piece of my rambutan haaa. But the singkamas, I shared to hubby and in-laws, just funny because they said it looks like potato and it tasted like potato too. Well, I considered that the look is like potato, but the taste is different. However, mum said it tasted a bit like apple. So I guess that one is a bit closer to singkamas taste.

Walking in the forest is fun especially if you see this kind of view. It's very solemn picture with such a beautiful green view. Romantic for couple to sit in the bench and spending time together, watching some birds and just feeling the fresh air. The forest that we visited was not so far from home, it's called Haagse bos. Long distance travel mostly makes me fall asleep, it's because I feel like someone cuddle me when I'm in the car or so. That's why sometimes I miss some nice view that we passed by, then hubby just explain to me what they saw while I'm in a deep sleep. Well, I tried to be awake sometimes by making myself busy like taking some pictures.

Last time when we visited Batavia city, I took some pictures of the nice view that we passed by. However, metal buildings caught my attention that time. I don't know exactly what it was, but the architectural design from the outside looks unique. Too bad I never got a chance to take some picture, it's just a quick view of me because we were driving in the highway in that time.

Mom and dad just went out to go to the hospital, therefore, I'm home alone now. So what else I can do now aside in blogging and watching my favorite pinoy series called 100 Days. Of course its music time for me, LOL. I have my own music compilation, so it's nice that I can listen it on my own in a loud volume. No one can complain about my taste of music, which is from 80's haaa. Well, I just love to listen it and seems like it ease the pain of my tooth *wink*.

Well, when I was in Philippines, I listened some loud music in my room with a max volume of my speaker. And there I sing like crazy. I know I don't have such a good voice, I'm aware for that, but who care, for fun it's so nice. Aside in oldies music, I enjoy listening some love song and RNB music too especially from my favorite band WESTLIFE. And rock music is also cool from Bon Jovi.

I'm having a hard time eating my breakfast (rice w/ chicken) today due to my toothache. Seems like it took me almost 40 minutes to chew all the foods which is normally I finished for 15-20 minutes only. Though the pain is gone already, but my upper tooth seems very sensitive. If there some small foods that stuck on it, then it starts to hurt me again ;-( Hubby and my in-laws said to me already that I need to go to the dentist, but waahhaaa, I'm afraid for it. So I hope the pain will be gone forever.

Buy and sell is fun thing to do, well at least for me. Though I never got a chance to sell yet through online, but I'm interested to try it. Apparently, buying is not new to me because we sometimes do that. It's like shopping online and for just few clicks, we can finally see what we wanted. I thought before that making many blogs would help me to make myself busy, apparently not. In fact, I start getting bored in blogging also and just want to do something else. I want to work, I want to go back in teaching, but it's difficult to do that here in NL. For a couple of weeks, I'm busy searching some jobs via internet, but annoying that most jobs required dutch language. Though I'm not really focusing in teaching job here, but just trying any jobs which I know I'm capable of. I hope someday I can get some job, I'm not choosy for what it is, I just want to do something that will occupied me in my boring days.

I'm cooking for dinner tonight

Phewww... it's my second time that that I will be cooking for dinner here, haaa. I will be cooking two kinds of dish called chicken pineapple platter and chicken curry. It's my first time to cook this all by myself, so I'm a bit nervous. Hubby is not here to assist me with all the preparation for the ingredients, but luckily bro-in-law came home so early from his work. So a big smile on my face that has a meaning on it, LOL. It means he will assist me in my cooking, he will substitute hubby's job. My bro-in-law can cook well, so I just forward to him my recipe and let him prepared the chicken pineapple platter. So one dish left and that's the chicken curry, so it's obvious I'm the one who cook for that later. Wish me luck! I hope it taste good. And oh... thanks to my favorite bro in law for helping me with my cooking task.

It was hailing last night

I was surprised when I heard some noise from our window. Hubby guess that it's some hard rain, but for me I make a joke that it's some kind of hail. Upon checking outside, I was right, it was hailing. I felt happy to see the first hail that fall this year, LOL. It's not the first time I saw some hail, but still I feel excited and happy to see it. Probably when I live here in NL for many years, then I start to dislike those hail. Anyway hailing last night was just about 20-30 minutes, then it stop already.

me and my bro-in-law

It's officially autumn here now, but it feels like summertime a few days ago. In fact, it started today that the temperature goes down again, but for about one week, the weather here was pretty good. A perfect time that hubby took some days of leave last week, so we went somewhere to explore and to spend quality time together. That's the reason why I'm away in blogospher for a couple of days and wasn't able to update this blog. I'm just busy, LOL. Well, I post our visit some other time.

For now I'm sharing our visit at the forest yesterday. The forest is called Haagse bos and it's located here in Den Haag. It took us almost 3 hours walked, phuu..that's long hours of walking already for me. However, I expect that I saw a lot of falling leaves, but not much yet. In fact, most of the trees were still green. So probably end of this month or by November, then for sure many falling leaves there already, nice to kick it haaa. Anyway, the weather was nice yesterday so it's a nice time to walk there. I enjoy watching the nice view that we passed by. And like always, take a picture of the view and of course myself haaa. I just love to be in the picture, I don't know why, LOL. Anyway, here's my entry for ruby Tuesday, me in my red blouse.

Loans help us

Way back a few years ago before my father retired from his job, he often avail loans from SSS. I don't know exactly how many times he loan but honestly, it help us a lot. He loan some money not to spend it for a wrong reason, but he wants to invest it for something that he can be proud of, like our education. A good investment that no one can steal it away from his children. And I'm so thankful for that because I know my father works hard to support the family. Aside from that, he also invest it for renovating our house.

Education is the best foundation for a better future. And it's the only wealth that no one can steal it away from us. Education is important because it leads to more job opportunities and a wider choice of jobs. Therefore, it is correlated with job satisfaction.
