Busy life ;)

Months ago, I keep complaining how bored I am here in NL, probably because I miss my life way back when I was in the Philippines. I miss those unplanned decision to go somewhere and going home late. Now that I'm here in NL, seems everything is different but I keep trying my best to cope the changes of my lifestyle. I just want to make myself busy here, then I can feel that sometimes I can be productive too, LOL and not just keep shopping and being at home.

Anyway, for a couple of weeks I've been busy already, well, I'm not complaining because honestly I'm enjoying it a lot. I just grab the chance that I can join some classes that I want while I still have enough free time.

11 Years of Friendship

Yesterday, February 21, 2012, hubby and I were officially knew each other for 11 years. We were like, wow! time fly so fast that we even didn't notice that we reach this far. Of course we are still counting for many years to come. It's just nice to look back the past that we started as friends before be became a lovers and as a couple. So altogether we were 11 years already.

Anyway, it was so funny to know that hubby and I had our own secret plan for our 11 years of friendship. My secret plan was to treat hubby on a nice dinner at the Greek restaurant. But the day before, I was talking to my mother-in-law and I shared to her about my plans, then she told me that hubby has a plan too. Hubby shared his plan to his mum and that's the reason that mum knew it. Apparently, I'm not aware that hubby has a plan to treat the whole family at the Greek restaurant. So I'm surprised to hear it from mum, therefore, hubby's surprised plan is not a surprise to me anymore, LOL.

At that night, I pretend that I didn't know about his plan, so I kiss and hug him saying, "wow! tomorrow, we are 11 years already hon''. Probably at that time, he knew it already from mum that I'm aware about his secret plan, so he started to open up to me that we will have a family dinner not on the 21st (Tuesday) but on the 24th (Friday) of February. And said to me that he doesn't like to have a celebration that the next day he needs to go to work. So he moved the celebration on Friday. Well, I'm aware of that already but instead I surprise him on the 21st for a nice dinner, then I decide to cancel it, knowing that Friday, we have a family dinner as well. So I just treat him some other time, not at the Greek but maybe at the Chinese seafoods restaurant here in the city. Well, it's just a simple celebration but it's the thoughts that count. Looking forward to our family dinner on Friday *wink*.

Yummy Sunday

Here's my entry for this week Yummy Sunday. I prepared a cordon blue with fries and cucumber as my vegis. And like always the family likes my condon blue :). That's one of the yummy dish that I can prepared *wink*.

Nice for the little one

Three days ago, we received a card from hubby's friend. It's a cute card that informed us about their newly born baby girl. A simple information about the baby was written in the card too. We wanted to give something to the little girl but we don't have any idea yet. Upon surfing through the net, finally we came up for a simple idea but that will be a secret for now *wink*. Anyway, another thing that I came across during my surfing is the beautiful phil & teds promenade stroller. Not that I want to have this to give to the little girl because we knew it already that they have a new one but I just find this stroller nice. With this stroller, you can do 8 configurations, therefore, it's a very handy thing.

Had a great time today

Yes, I admit that I really had a great time today with my two classes such as bicycle lesson and Dutch lesson. It's my second time that I joined these two classes and I already heard some positive feedback. Of course I'm happy and feel so flattered with all those positive compliments from my teacher. I just feel so proud for myself, LOL.

Anyway, it was a long time ago that I did some cycling way back in the Philippines and I'm not good in that. In fact, I kept falling in that time and never tried it anymore. But now that I'm here in NL, I feel so jealous that many people can cycle. So I joined this bicycle lesson, hoping that someday I can cycle here too. So far, in my first actual bicycle lesson, I did it good, LOL. I feel so happy that I can cycle for few minutes without falling on the ground haaa. I hope that before the 10 sessions of bicycle lesson end, then I can see some improvement already for my cycling. And I hope that I can gain some guts to cycle in the bicycle pad.

Fire alarm

Last Monday, we had an improper class because our teacher is having her vacation and in that day no one take over her class. Luckily, the teacher from the other class tried to conduct a class even for just a few minutes with us and few minutes to his own class. I appreciate his simple move but annoying to know that no one take over in our class. It’s a waste of my time and even to my classmates to wake up early in the morning just to attend the class and it end up as like that. But anyway, our class was very short because after our break around 10:30 am, we heard the fire alarm. So directly we evacuate our classroom and wonder what's going on. When I went out from the building, I was standing across the highway and watching if there some fire or so. So far, I didn't see anything but I saw a firetruck that drove fast on the way to the school. Well, I have no patience in waiting, so I decide to go home.

Cranky morning

Waking up this morning was not really good for me, I'm a bit cranky for some reason, but that's a secret *wink*. Anyway, Saturday it's men's shopping day, it means that hubby and I together with my bro-in-law will do some shopping together. Well it's their day, so I'm just there to accompany them and that's also our day to bond together as family. But this day I never go with them because like I said I'm a bit cranky. So I let them shop together and I did my own shopping alone. Not at the city center here in Den Haag but in the other shopping center. While walking all alone at the shopping center, I came across a best maternity clothes. I find them so lovely, so when time comes that I will be pregnant, I know it already where to buy my maternity dress, *wink*.

Daily class

I'm happy that next week I can begin my new dutch class at the buurthuis. I'm really eager to learn the dutch language and that's the reason that I join the other dutch class. Actually this new class that I will be joining is my second dutch class already. My other dutch class is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. While my new class is once a week only and that's only every Tuesday. Luckily the new class has no conflict for my other class. I cross my fingers that these classes that I'm joining will help me to learn the language as soon as possible. In that way, I can apply for a job here already, I just feel so bored that I'm jobless here. Although I tried to apply for some job but most of it required a dutch speaker.

Aside in the language class, I also have a bicycle lesson class and that will be every Thursday. It's just an hour class, therefore, I still have enough time to do some daydreaming at home, LOL. Well, all weekdays I have a daily class, so that's nice already for me.

Thank God It's Friday

Bicycle lesson - 1st day

I’m so glad that most people who joined the bicycle lesson were very nice and friendly. So in my first day to joined the class, directly I feel comfortable with it.

Anyway, today we did a short lesson about the rules and signs that we can see in the street. Well, some of those signs I know already but most of it I don’t know, LOL. Therefore, it’s so nice that for somehow they explain it to us. Since most of them speak and understand dutch already, therefore I have a special translator that would explain to me in English. Well, I understand some of the Dutch explanation but not everything. Luckily the two teachers were very nice to me and they really try their best to let me understand. I hope next week no more snow on the ground anymore, I can’t wait to sit on a bike and cycle by myself haaaa. I’m not so excited huh, isn’t it? As of now still some snow on the ground and it’s not so safe to practice the bicycle especially for a beginner like me.

Excited for my new class

Aside in my Dutch course that makes me a bit busy, I'm also joining some other class in the buurthuis. In fact, this coming Thursday I will start my bicycle lesson, LOL, I'm excited already *wink*. Actually, I never got a chance to learn how to cycle during my childhood days it's because my father was very protective for us. So most of us at home doesn't know how to cycle because my father always think that it’s not safe for us. But now that I'm here in NL, I sometimes feel a bit jealous to see some people who can cycle. So I said to myself, how I wish I can do that too. And this bicycle lesson is an opportunity for me to learn it.

My husband and my in-laws keep telling me that it's easy to cycle, but people who don't know how to cycle find it difficult haaaa. Well, I tried to learn that way back when I was in the Philippines, but my balance was really bad. The last time I tried I fell on the ground because I break too hard. After that I never dare to try it anymore, I'm afraid to get some bruise again haaa.

It starts to melt

The weather here in NL still below zero degrees, therefore, when you walk outside you still feel like your freezing. But as a student, I have no escape from the cold because I have morning class. So I must get out in my bed and wrap up my body with many clothes just to protect myself from the cold weather. Well, even the weather is like this, I still like it because I have a positive outlook for this kind of weather. It's like free aircon, LOL. Well, in the Philippines we want aircon because of the warm weather and here in NL, we wart heater haaa.

Anyway, while I'm walking on the way back home, I notice that some snow started to melt already. In the road I don't see much snow anymore but looks like a mud.

Yummy Sunday

Was having a great time in the snow

It feels so nice to walk while there some snow that fall down. That's what I felt yesterday while I'm on the way home. Before my class end, it starts to snow already, so I walked with a smile on my face because I was thinking that the one I'm waiting has arrived. Though it's not the first time I saw snow but still I got excitement to feel it in my face and to play with it.

Anyway, too much of my excitement that I can't hold it anymore haaa so when I came home, directly I shout it's snowing outside, it so nice! haaaa, so my parents-in-law were surprised. I know they don't like snow because they find it so cold but I do. In fact, I went outside yesterday while it was still snowing. Hubby was at work that time, so it's my solo fun time with the snow. I walked in the centrum and feel every drop of snow on my face, LOL. I finished the time until the snow were gone, so after that I went home with, of course a BIG SMILE again haaa. Just too bad not much snow this time, unlike last year. Well, I'm still happy even not much at least I see them this year.

I gain a bit confidence

First and foremost I’m thankful that I enrolled in the Dutch course. For somehow I gain my confidence in communicating to other people using the language. Although it’s not that good enough but at least I have guts to say something using the Dutch language. I remembered before I joined this Dutch course, every time I say something in Dutch, then I keep giggling because I feel a bit shy that maybe I pronounce it bad or I say it wrong or my grammar is not correct. I had an awkward feeling to communicate using the Dutch language because I have no confidence and I feel shy. Well, it’s not that I’m a shy person but in this case I’m shy that people might laugh at me if I say it wrong.

I’m almost two months in the course and seems like I change, like I said previously, I gain confidence already. Well, not as high as my confidence if I speak English because I’m always bubbly for that haaaa.

Upset for our class today

I was a bit upset at school today because we had a new teacher again. I guess that was the 4th teacher that I encountered. It's like every week a new teacher will come and will take over the class. As a student, I find it so annoying because I need to adjust again the teaching strategy of the new teacher. Aside from that, it's also confusing to the student. It's like I got used to it to the previous teacher, then suddenly she's gone and a new teacher came. How can we learn if that's their case? How can the teacher follow or guide the weakness of the students if they don't see their students so often? Sometimes I asked myself if the schools are really serious for us to learn the Dutch language because it seems like they are making some kind of fun or so. So today I burst out my disappointment to the new teacher, so instead we do portfolio because it's Wednesday, then we do some language class.

Entrance exam at the buurthuis

Two days ago, I did my entrance exam at the buurthuis. A buurthuis is an organization where they offer some activities to the neighborhood such as bicycle lesson, sewing lesson, Dutch lesson and many more. It's like ALS ( Alternative Learning System in the Philippines) which is under from the DepED.

Anyway, the course that I enrolled in the buurthuis is the Duch lesson. I'm interested to enroll this because it might help me to learn fast the Dutch language. Though I have three times a week Dutch class from the government already but still I want to be involved in the other Dutch course. In this way it might broad my mind to enhance and to develop my Dutch learning.
